What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operator position at Watco?
As a Laborer you will be joining a well-established Team at a growing company where you will assist in our Cotton Season loading.
The positions we are needing to fill would be seasonal from mid-July to December depending on season.
The position is labor intensive and working in extreme weather conditions.
Essential Duties and Abilities
Read and understand all standard operating procedures as well as safety requirements for the job.
Ensure all safety pins are in place after the task is completed.
When assigned to tarp cars, once cars are set in place, a tarp will be placed on top of car and draped to cover the entire car, bungees to be set in each eyelet on the tarp, 4 rachet straps will be draped across railcar to secure tarp, repeat the task throughout the day.
Laborer will be required to perform occasional janitorial work in maintaining the admin. building.
Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and any other pass on information from team members, management, or customer.
Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned
Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance
Ability to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions
Flexibility required; ability to workdays, nights, weekends when necessary
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principles
Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Machine, Tools, Special Equipment, Personal Protective Equipment Used
Required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to uniform, steel toed boots, eye protection, hard hat, gloves, hi vis clothing / vest, radio, etc.
Operate a skid steer, air tools, truck, wire cutters, power tools and hand tools.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds alone, twist, climb, etc. Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with all Team Members, vendors, and customers 100% of the time.
