Job Description: Traffic Clerk
The Traffic Clerk is responsible for coordinating shipments in and out of the Watco Greens Port Industrial Terminals in accordance with directions given by the Transportation Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Checks in and checks out truck shipments.
- Coordinates routing activities and tracks transportation vehicles.
- Logs all outbound trucks on the appointment schedule.
- Assists in all customer complaints by helping with the investigation process until resolved.
- Follows all safety rules and policies and reports any safety issues.
- Assist and work with the Shipping and Receiving Clerks as needed.
- Maintains knowledge of regulations related to transportation including those related to hazardous shipments and team member safety.
- Maintain all truck line relationships and orders.
- Utilize the Datex and Commtrac systems to ensure timely completion to satisfy customer demand.
- Ensures compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and government regulations.
- The traffic Clerk is responsible for providing clerical support to the traffic function.
- Is responsible for all aspects of logging orders, routing, shipping, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders.
- Prepares and verifies relative documents like Dock Receipts and Delivery Receipts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as needed for direct discharge and late gates.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented
- Strong logistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on importance and time frames.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/ GED
