UTILITY COMPANY SEEKING CONTROLLER
Water Management Services, Inc. is a privately owned water utility which has served St. George Island with potable water since 1974 under a certificate issued by the Florida Public Service Commission. The company is seeking a controller to handle all financial matters for the company.
We are looking for a CPA or an accountant with at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting who has experience in all aspects of bookkeeping and accounting, from cash receipts and disbursements to general ledgers, depreciation schedules, monthly income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and related accounting functions. The applicant must be familiar with general ledger accounting software such as Peachtree and must be proficient with Excel.
We are looking for someone who can work on a limited basis with our retiring controller in late 2022 and early 2023 to become familiar with the NARUC system of accounts and the Annual Report requirements of the Public Service Commission. The full time position will be open May 1, 2023, with flexible hours to include at least 25 hours per week working out of the company’s administrative office in Tallahassee. Occasional work at the company’s water plant and billing office on St. George Island may be required. The salary will be competitive, depending on the applicant’s experience and credentials. Benefits include a 401K, health insurance and paid time off.
We are a family owned company looking for a long term, career employee to serve as controller for the utility which must continue in perpetuity to serve all the water needs of St. George Island.
