What is the opportunity?

Under the direction of the Director of Partnership Services and Administration, the Partnerships and Communications (P&C) Project Manager, Operations will assist in the day-to-day operations of the P&C Division and support in the successful delivery of P&C-related projects and initiatives. These initiatives will have varied complexities that include ongoing initiatives and critical one-time projects that build the capacity and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the P&C division.  

 

This role directly communicates and collaborates with fellow project managers and department leaders and will serve as the P&C liaison for Finance and IT in most operational projects and initiatives. An ideal candidate will be able to successfully work within complex organizational structures and understand multi-department projects to provide continuous improvement to systems and processes. This is a full-time position that can be based remotely or at Water Mission’s headquarters in Charleston, SC. 


A successful Project Manager, Operations will:

General Duties 

  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, donors, volunteers, and the general public. Maintain high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities. 

 

Support the Creation of Efficiencies for Systems and Processes 

  • Review, recommend, and develop P&C business processes and systems to support efficiency and good stewardship of resources.

     

    Support Change Management, Training, and Adoption of New Programs and Processes 

    • Develop SOPs and resources to support new programs and processes. 
    • Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a change leader within the P&C division. 

     

    Project Management 

    • Manage portions of projects in support of larger P&C projects and initiatives, including defining and executing tasks and communicating status in support of P&C Project Managers. 
    • Utilize Smartsheet to plan project deliverables, assign tasks, establish timelines, and monitor progress. Ensure project status is kept current and accurate at all times. 
    • Provide support in ensuring effective internal communications on projects, including tracking activity, summary reports, action items, and key milestones. 
    • Perform tasks within the ERP system, including project creation and closure, transfer of funds, and budgeting and forecasting.  
    • Document and maintain new and existing processes and procedures. 
    • Document, maintain, and clean up records within Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software depending on the project. 
    • Lead or support P&C special projects or ministry-wide projects as identified by the VP, P&C, specifically in operations.   

       

      Administrative Duties  

      • Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with all P&C departments, project teams, and major stakeholders. 
      • Work with Water Mission’s Information Technology department to produce reports and continually optimize workflows, resolve issues, and enhance the existing Raiser’s Edge database to further align with division goals and activities. 
      • Set up and maintain dashboard reports for the management team reflecting ongoing activities and outcomes. 
      • Provide additional support, as needed, to the VP, P&C in routine administration to include: prepare meeting agendas, accurately record meeting minutes and action item follow-ups, assist with general mailings, prepare documents, reports, presentations, and letters, and update Raiser’s Edge records for quality data tracking. 
      • Other duties as assigned.

          • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
          • 2-4 years of experience in project management, operations, and/or donor development.  
          • Self-motivated, diplomatic, articulate, approachable, concerned with long-term effectiveness. 
          • Creative thinker, effective problem-solver.  
          • Ability to thrive in a highly fluid environment and respond to changing requests.  
          • Superior level of organization and attention to detail required. 
          • Ability to maintain a high quality of work in a fast-paced environment. 
          • Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software preferred. 
          • Proficiency in managing Raiser’s Edge or other CRM/database preferred.  
          • Comprehensive computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  
          • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. 
          • Ability to travel to the Charleston HQ a minimum of two times a year. 
          • Flexibility to work periodic nights and weekends as required for ministry operations. 
          • Commitment to the values and mission of the organization and ending the global water crisis.
          • Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities, required.
