Part Time Live In Weekend Caregiver for Mom

This position is for every other weekend while regular live in caregiver is off. Shift starts Friday at 4 pm and ends on Sunday at 4 pm (total of 48 hours).

Mom is 93 and lives in one level rambler in quiet neighborhood with a full time live-in caregiver who is off every weekend. Mom has moderate dementia and has limited vision because of cataracts. She requires complete assistance with eating, medication, bathing and toileting. Mom has electric hospital bed in bedroom and electric lift recliner chair in living room. She requires assistance with transfers from bed to wheelchair or walker.

Caregiver should be able to assemble simple meals and/or snacks which have been prepared ahead of time by the regular caregiver and perform light house keeping (including cleaning small kitchen and bathroom), and laundry as necessary. Caregiver should also be familiar with basic physical therapy and be willing to help Mom with physical therapy. Caregiver will have own bedroom on main level.

You must be very nurturing, patient, kind and understanding with the various stages of dementia.

Prefer good English skills. You must be authorized for employment in United States by the following means: 1) United States passport, 2) valid lawful permanent resident status (green card) or 3) work permit. We will not hire anyone who is not authorized for employment in the United States. NO EXCEPTIONS. You must live locally because you cannot live at Mom's house when you are not on duty.

The pay range is between $15 and $20 per hour (depending on your experience) for 48 hours every other weekend. You will be paid once a month by direct deposit from a national payroll service which will deduct Social Security, Medicare, Virginia unemployment insurance, and Virginia and federal income taxes (as applicable).
