DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
Ensures networks, applications and information systems meet security posture and makes recommendations for improvement.
Establishes computer and physical security by developing standards, policies and procedures.
Coordinates with IT and facilities security and recommends improvements.
Monitors use of data files and regulates access to safeguard information.
Ensures authorized access by investigating improper access, revoking access, reporting violations and monitoring information requests.
Ensures that systems are safeguarded by ensuring that regular backups are performed, procedures are followed for source code management and disaster preparedness and recommending improvements.
Develops and leads security awareness by providing briefings, educational material and on-going communication.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publication and maintaining Continuous Education Units (CEU).
Encrypts data transmissions and erects firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted.
Leads project teams and performs all duties associated with supervising/managing employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong knowledge and experience implementing information and network security policies and standards
Demonstrated skills in problem solving and risk mitigation
Working knowledge of network protocols, routers, hubs, and switches
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare and present briefs
Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous project with pressing deadlines
Excellent time management skills
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years’ experience working as a full-time Information Assurance/Cyber Security Analyst or similar position
BS in Computer Science or related field or substitutable experience
Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and experience with Interim Authority to Test (IATT), DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Working knowledge of network protocols, routers, hubs, and switches.
CISSP preferred/Security + CE Certification Required
