What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory - Medical lab Tech PT position at Watertown Regional Medical Center?
Responsible for performing various clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the laboratory using automated equipment, manual testing and microscopic analysis to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures check lists. Must be able to respect diversity of each person's values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers. Effectively interacts with patients, hospital employees, managers, and other health team members while maintaining established professional standards. Participates in performance improvement activities.
BS in physical science and registry in Medical Technology (MT-ASCP or equivalent). Certification preferred. BLS required within 60 days of hire
