This is a full-time maintenance position working Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Flexibility in hours required. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or skills associated with this position, but is intended to accurately reflect the essential job elements. Responsibilities include the following: Perform general maintenance duties (plumbing, carpentry, masonry/concrete, electrical, mechanical equipment/vehicles, HVAC systems, roof repair, field/playground); a minimum of three years experience preferred Perform ground maintenance (snow/ice removal, tree trimming, turf care) Use safety precautions when operating of cleaning/maintenance equipment Perform building inspections to ensure building security Move furniture and equipment within district Work outdoors under adverse weather conditions Participate in training sessions and acquire skills and licensing required to perform maintenance procedures Possible custodian fill-in Perform other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with Policy 3122 throughout his/her employment in the District. High school diploma/GED or equivalent custodial work experience (preferred) Valid driver’s license Possess or acquire refrigeration licensing Ability to lift 80 pounds Knowledge of basic power tools and equipment Pass drug test and background screening ABility to communicate effectively in writing and orally Organizational skills Ability to problem-solve Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to take and follow directions and also work independently Capability and willingness to be a team player and develop interpersonal relationships while maintaining a professional demeanor
