Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Work well with others and individually with little or no supervision.

· Read and understand production paperwork including schedules, blueprints, and spec sheets.

· Use measuring equipment and hand tools, be mechanically inclined and able to operate equipment/machinery as necessary.

· Produce custom samples for customers and sales staff, using an appropriate mix matrix comprised of a variety of sand, aggregate, glass, porcelain, cement, dyes, epoxies, etc., with custom, non-product molds.

· Employ a variety of finishing methods such as grinding, sanding, staining, sealing etc. to produce a product sample that is consistent with our finished product specifications.

· Pick and pull the appropriate products from inventory and use a variety of hand tools (including: pneumatic staple & nail guns, hand-held drills, screw drivers, powered and manual banding equipment, etc.) and stationary tools to prepare samples for off-site shipping and internal use to gage product consistency and conformance to customer specifications.

· Monitor the in-process or inter/intra-department material handling needs and moves products and materials from place to place to keep things moving and organized.

· Produce high quality samples for both standard and custom products while meeting deadlines.

· Properly design and build appropriate packaging to effectively secure products for shipment.

· Enter samples, mix designs and completed orders into system.

· Handle all custom and standard samples shipping through FedEx or UPS.

· Responsible for keeping inventory on all standard samples.

· Perform a variety of other tasks including: sweeping, dusting, organizing, training, helping other areas, stocking, inventorying, handling hazardous waste, trash removal and maintaining a clean department at all times.

· Other duties as assigned as it relates to the Sample’s Department.

Qualifications and Skills
Required:

· 1 years of production or similar experience

· Excellent communication skills and team player attitude

· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

· Knowledge of mix designs and process

· Strong computer skills: MS Office and AS400

Physical Requirements:

Includes but is not limited to, prolonged periods of standing, working on a computer, bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, walking, twisting, squatting and kneeling. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, knees, back shoulders and neck. Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like.
