What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supv, Live Haul position at Wayne Farms?
[Primary Function] This position is responsible for managing the process of catching, loading, hauling, weighing and unloading birds on a schedule which allows for a constant flow of birds while insuring both low shrinkage and a low DOA count. [Responsibilities and Tasks] * Supplies the Field Representatives with the catch times for each house. * Generates the daily production reports in a timely manner. * Monitors contract crews to insure they are operating within DOL guidelines and pays them according to the executed contract. * Responsible for insuring live haul equipment is operated in a safe and legal manner and monitors drivers to insure they are within DOT guidelines. * Maintains an open line of communication with Drivers, Catch Contractors, Field Representatives and Producers. * Follow-up on any farm damage caused during the catch process and insures repairs are done in a timely manner. * Ensure birds are weighed according to the Wayne Farms weighing procedure while ensuring the proper training of every Scale Operator and keeping license/permit up to date. * Manage the holding shed temperatures to insure birds are kept within animal welfare guidelines. Work with Maintenance to keep fans and foggers operating efficiently. * Trains, certifies and supervises the back dock Fork Lift Operators. * Maintains equipment inspection forms as required by law. * Ensures cages are kept in good repair to meet animal welfare guidelines. * Calculates hourly employees’ weekly payroll. * Other duties include planning and searching for new and improved ways of lowering costs, directing and assisting the live haul supervisors in their daily activities, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. [Minimum Skill Levels and Work Experience] Minimum of high school diploma or G.E.D. Four year degree preferred. One year in poultry live haul operations preferred. Working knowledge of poultry operation required. Intermediate Microsoft Office computer skills required.
