What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Esports Coach position at Wayne State college?
- Supervision and instruction of Esports program and students
- Coordination of the schedule of the Esports arena including practices, competitions, and open times
- Develop and coordinate the workers, interns, or practicum students including the hiring, training, and review of student employees
- Setting and meeting recruitment and retention goals, encouraging academic excellence and compliance with standards set forth by the athletic department and NSCS board
- Assist in coaching your game of specialty and others as needed
- Ensuring all conference requirements are being met by the athletes and fees are paid in advance
- Host events on site and virtually to promote the program
- Develop and implement marketing and branding strategies for Esports program
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Experience coaching or teaching Esports at any level (full, part time, or volunteer)
- Ability to work with and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work varying hours including nights and weekends
- Prior experience in the Esport’s industry – coaching, directing and/or as an athlete
- Experience with troubleshooting computers
- Strong recruitment skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Discord, Twitch, social media, and other eSport applications
