Overview of the Member Engagement Specialist
The Member Engagement Specialist will report to the Member Operations team and will be tasked with initial engagement and enrollment of eligible health plan members in treatment facilities to educate them on Wayspring’s service offerings, as well as ongoing engagement with the Member throughout the program. The ideal candidate will be a highly personable and professional with excellent communication skills. This position requires regular daytime travel to treatment facilities in Eastern Kentucky. Mileage reimbursement is included!
Responsibilities of the Member Engagement Specialist
- Successfully contact members and provide them with an educational overview of Wayspring’s service offerings
- Secure verbal and written consent, and obtaining appropriate paperwork for services including consent to clinic services and release of information forms from members to participate in Wayspring’s services
- Provide on-going peer recovery engagement services to members both telephonically and in-person
- Conduct outreach to providers, both telephonically and in-person, to secure member referrals
- Incorporate recovery support themes into engagement
- Regularly review member profile for SDoH and clinical updates
- Provide rotating after-hours and on-call support
- Initiate creative strategies to facilitate member contact, including some in-person opportunities
- Maintain performance accountability around member enrollment and participation and achieve performance targets
- Adhere to Wayspring information security and privacy requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in an outreach role
- Ability to travel as business needs require within the state of Kentucky (no regular overnight travel)
- Ideal candidate would have peer specialist or peer recovery background in the substance use disorder space or experience in a behavioral health setting
- Highly organized and detail-oriented and self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability working in a matrixed environment
- The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively is required
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, and effective presentation skills
- Experience with CRM platforms or Electronic Health Record systems is preferred
- Hybrid Model - this role offers the ability to work from home 1-2 days per week as well as in the community or in treatment facilities 3-4 days per week.
- Bachelors degree is preferred, but not required
