What you’ll be doing...
- The Finance Organization At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. We’re finding new ways to add value and provide strategic support. This is the kind of work we do. - FP &A Corporate and Business Unit Team Move beyond compiling data and help tell the story behind the numbers. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. You’ll become involved in, but not limited to, device subsidy forecasting, business case scenario modeling, and device pricing decisions. You can have an impact on new business growth opportunities through development of business case scenarios.
- Responsible for establishing device level Subsidy P*Q forecasting and analysis within Verizon Value to assist Sales and Finance in effective decision making
- Developing month end commentary behind any Subsidy actual versus forecast variances at a brand/channel/device level; create and maintain storytelling visuals to be leveraged during close process
- Partnering with the pricing team, FP&A, and Managing Directors to evaluate subsidy expenses, scenario planning, and roadmap assortment recommendations
- Establishing effective communication across the organization of average Subsidy cost by brand, channel, and retailer
- Partnering with FPAS to create/automate Subsidy reporting and dashboards
- Partnering with teams throughout the business to leverage digital finance tools to further automate modeling and disseminate insights to create more effective business decisions.
- Partnering with Demand Planning consistently to evaluate inventory and shipping expectations
- Working with Accounting on a monthly basis to ensure all necessary Subsidy related entries are accurately aligned to expectations
- Partnering with internal pricing team as well as Verizon Sourcing to ensure all latest device level pricing is reflected in modeling and forecasts
- Defining the need for and the source of data requirements for the planning & forecasting and reporting processes.
- Conducting the development of strategic business analysis with overlays and commentary.
- Proactively identifying possible scenarios, risks and opportunities around business performance.
- Communicating with partners in a clear and concise manner. ###
- What we’re looking for... You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
- Two or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with forecasting and modeling
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
- Business Partnering experience Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry
- A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA)
- A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.
- Strong strategic skills, with the proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations
- An advanced understanding of corporate financial planning, reporting & analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies and processes
- Demonstrated in-depth understanding of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management
