Hiring now for a Financial Aid Counselor - HYBRID role either in Cleveland / Columbus, OH!
Your primary responsibility is to ensure that We Can Code IT students are guided through the financial process and thoughtfully gain access to funds in order to further their education with us. You will work closely with bookkeeping to ensure timely and accurate invoicing. You will seek out relationships with vendors who benefit WCCI and our students. You will assist in reporting data to our financial partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer the financial workings of WCCI and its students.
- Help students through the finance process. Student loan guidance, processing, and documentation.
- Assists in the admissions process, working closely with the team to help students join our programs.
- Manage WIET (OMJ) and similar programs.
- Assist in licensing WCCI for WIET in other states as we grow.
- Develop an informational briefing on financial aid with special attention on the obligations of any student who applies for and accepts a financial aid grant or loan.
- Ensure that students who apply for financial aid through the school attend a school's informational briefing on financial aid and sign a statement acknowledging an understanding of the financial obligations into which they are entering.
- Create and manage student files in our administration system ensuring documents are up to date.
- Manage relationships with loan providers and help secure new loan providers.
- Assist in marketing the communicating financial options to potential students and the team.
- Find and secure grants to fund our student scholarships.
- Manage scholarship and grant processes.
- Work with bookkeepers on student invoicing and receivables.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 5 years experience in student finance. Qualities we’re looking for include being personable, having attention to detail, incredible personal communication skills, collaboration, strong finance/math/logic abilities, the ability to maintain privacy, and excellent record-keeping skills.
Able to function in a streamlined team setting.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
