Weaver is looking for a Corporate Paralegal to join its legal department. The role will include assisting the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel with reviewing and drafting contracts, monitoring licensing compliance, and responding to subpoenas.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the firm’s compliance with states’ licensing requirements.
- Support drafting legal documents and developing and/or reviewing templates.
- Manage the firm’s response to subpoenas.
- Assist in reviewing contract modifications.
- Work with the marketing department to review potential governmental contract terms and evaluate the firm’s potential compliance.
- Work closely and collaboratively with all members of Legal Department to develop and implement key legal processes and systems corporate wide, conduct legal research and analysis, and oversee clerical tasks as needed.
- Assist in corresponding with the firm’s insurance representatives and managing insurance renewals.
- Manage insurance certificate requests and compliance.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to work successfully in a fast-paced legal department – i.e., highly organized self-starter with ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines with little supervision.
- High proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills - presentation, written, and verbal.
- Document management software experience; preferred
- College degree, plus 2-4 years paralegal experience.
