What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Superintendent - Energy - Solar Farms position at Webber?
SUMMARY
Webber Energy is a new division within Webber to support EPC renewable generation projects, especially Solar and Wind farms, in the US. The Electrical Superintendent will supervise the execution of renewable power generation projects. Position requires to be 100% onsite at our project sites.
REGULAR JOB DUTIES
- Responsible for reviewing design drawings, ensuring compliance, and inspecting the electrical work for compliance before, during, and after product installation.
- Review of drawings, schematics and bid proposals to confirm conformity with code standards, contract scope, and stakeholder requirements.
- Support the estimating team on developing bid out RFQs and facilitate communication and coordination between the team, subcontractors, and the clients.
- Quality assurance and quality control reviews of the electrical components and installations at all stages of the project, checking accurate execution in accordance with regulations and project scope.
- Keep accurate project documentation, records, and communications throughout these processes is expected.
- Oversee field operation and ensures all engineering processes and procedures are followed, including enforcing safety policies and procedures. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Follow the development of the project schedule with the Project Team and ensure the team is executing to the plan, meeting project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
- Know the key operational details of the subcontract and holds the subcontractors accountable to their agreement and the company's standards.
- Set, communicate, and enforce production goals and schedules with the subcontractors.
- Review daily reports as well as Subcontractor's daily reports for accurate hours, time coding, production quantities, and activity summaries
- Prevent rework, recognize any potential patterns of rework, and develop solutions to eliminate it.
- Conduct field visits to gather relevant data on project site conditions, verify production rates, construction quality, and issue resolution
- Train and develops subordinates and peers
- Work to beat the project cost budget. Implement effective cost controls over subcontractors, material, equipment, and other related expenditures
- Actively promote a culture of equipment care and seek ways to keep the equipment fleet to a minimum to control costs.
- Resolve problems and issues to maintain schedule and mitigate risk for the project.
- Collaborate as needed to resolve major complex issues and assist with the resolution of claims.
- Successful candidate must be flexible in location. While this position will be based out of Houston, Texas to start, the projects will be located in all areas of the Texas Region. Travel to projects will be required.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing and supervising projects.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or renewable engineering strongly preferred
- Strong technical background in the electrical field. (Solar project experience is a plus)
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, drawings, and diagrams
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Engineering or technical experience, including with LV, MV and HV
- Ability to work both independently and in coordination with multiple stakeholders
- NEC 2014 & 2017 knowledge is required.
- Master Electrical License is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of the basic OSHA Safety regulations.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, high level of autonomy and proactiveness.
