Position Summary
This position is responsible for the project planning, schedules, and estimation costs, while maintaining operational schedules within the project, coordinating materials, schedules, productivity and subcontractor quotes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops, manages and controls detailed schedules utilizing Primavera Planning and Scheduling Software, interfacing with the planning staff, all field discipline personnel, engineering staff, and incorporating electronic planning software date within the schedule.
- Maintain and update the schedule regularly throughout the Project and provides verbal and written reports in all aspects of schedule status and forecast to project and site management.
- Maintain overall project cost, tracking, forecasting, trending, and reporting.
- Prepare/revise and communicates cost control procedures as necessary to ensure accurate, consistent and timely reporting or real time cost.
- Resource and/or cost load all activities within the plan and schedule, optimizing resource utilization through resource leveling and density analysis within the Project schedule.
- Produce, present, and analyze sufficient graphic and narrative schedule reports to meet company standard procedures and the specific needs of the Project or client.
- Lead Schedule Review Meetings with all Project Participants to ensure proper logic, prioritization, resource utilization, logistics and constraints are properly represented within the Plan and Schedule.
- Assist in the development of the Project's Risk Analysis as pertains to the plan and schedule.
- Develop the detailed WBS and Activity Coding Structure within Projects to allow for sufficient Grouping, Sorting, and Reporting to meet standard procedures and the specific needs of the Project.
- Identify and/or assist in the development of the Scope of Work to be planed and scheduled.
- Develop and manage a Scope Change Management system, incorporating all approved changes into the plan and schedule on a periodic basis, in accordance with project standard procedures and the specific needs of the Project or Client.
- Develop periodic reporting formats to enable the collection of field progress data in accordance with company standard procedures and the specific needs of the Project.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to work within, and utilize data obtained from, the electronic planning software being utilized, such as Primavera, Micro Soft Project, or other similar software.
- Ability to interact with all project participants to gather scope, logistics, and constraints to be included within the plan and schedule.
- Ability to electronically or otherwise incorporate all planning data, obtained from the planning software and from verbal communications with project participants, into the overall project plan and schedule.
- Knowledge of Industrial Construction Work Processes in order to properly sequence, prioritize, and tie logic between all planed and scheduled activities.
- Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with all employees, clients, field, and safety personnel.
Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or equivalent - minimum (Engineering or Bachelor' Degree in Project Management or Business preferred)
- 5-7 years related experience within industrial / facilities management, particularly supporting mechanical / electrical, HVAC and like industry operations
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working with scheduling cost controls
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
- Employees working in this environment may be subject to a rotating or permanent shift that includes evening, weekend, holiday and on call emergency shifts.
- Highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability.
- Crews will primarily work 12 hours shifts (either day or night) on a rotation of 12 hours on duty and 12 hours off, during storms and precipitation events, possibly 7 days a week.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times while on the job site.
