Webflow is a visual web development platform that empowers non-coders to create incredible experiences for the web.
We’re looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to help us negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and provide a wide array of support to Webflow’s Commercial Legal team.
About the role
- Location: San Francisco, or remote (US only)
- Full-time
As a Senior Contracts Manager, you’ll …
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements to completion under the guidance of Senior Legal Counsel in collaboration with various cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Deal Desk, Operations, etc.).
- Draft, optimize, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to NDAs, MSAs, DPAs, vendor or procurement agreements, Order Forms, and other contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Create, maintain, and continuously iterate on contract templates, playbooks, and processes to continue to enable the Legal team to scale with Webflow’s growth in tandem with our cross-functional clients and partners.
- Liaise with Legal, Sales, Finance, Deal Desk, and Operations to ensure both time-sensitive and bespoke as well as general contract review requests are handled consistently and efficiently within Webflow’s established processes.
- Effectively identify and synthesize key contractual terms, concepts, and risks to Senior Legal Counsel as well as business clients and colleagues in actionable format.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and add additional value to our stakeholders and partners (e.g., providing on-going training and resources for Sales clients and other internal stakeholders regarding commercial/contractual best practices).
- Have a key part in Webflow’s contract development, contract approval coordination, contract file and database management, and contract lifecycle management implementation across Webflow.
- Participate in special and creative assignments and provide ad hoc commercial support and reporting as required.
That said, these responsibilities are just the start! At Webflow, we encourage you to contribute wherever your interests take you — and shape your role accordingly.
About you
You’ll thrive as a Senior Contracts Manager if you:
- Have a JD (preferred but not required!)
- Have demonstrated experience in-house at a technology company directly supporting sales teams selling platform or software-as-a-service products.
- Have knowledge of tech industry best practices (including legal drafting and contract management practices), especially hands-on experience in drafting and negotiating NDAs, SaaS/cloud subscription MSAs and related documents (e.g., Order Forms), and procurement agreements and related documents.
- Are an excellent negotiator and communicator, able to effectively and plainly explain legal and commercial issues internally to cross-functional partners.
- Have a vested interest in cross-functional collaboration and partnering daily with teammates in Legal, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Deal Desk.
- Are a highly-motivated self-starter, able to operate independently and strategically, with a strong eye for both legal issue spotting as well as providing thoughtful business input.
- Have some familiarity with data protection and privacy laws, including but not limited to GDPR and related US laws (e.g., CCPA).
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an efficient, pragmatic and cooperative negotiation style.
- Are adaptable and an effective multi-tasker with a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, demands for your time.
- Are a creative thinker and excited to contribute to a lean but growing Legal team as we build out processes and tools to help our team and our clients scale with Webflow’s rapidly growing business.
- Are adaptable to working autonomously and as part of a team, excelling in a fast-paced, time-pressured, and demanding environment.
- Familiar with contract lifecycle management (CLM) software and tools.
- Are a great teammate with strong social and interpersonal skills and a great sense of humor!
If you don’t meet 100% of the above qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying. Studies show that you can still be considered for a role if you meet just 50% of the role’s requirements.
