What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern - Editorial position at WebMD?
Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and related mobile applications that make it easier for physicians and healthcare professionals to access clinical reference sources, stay abreast of the latest clinical information, learn about new treatment options, earn continuing medical education credits and communicate with peers.

Responsibilities
- Develop ideas for consumer and professional medical news and features
- Write quick-turn news stories for same-day publication
- Write full news stories with interviews
- Assist with securing photos for articles
- Assist editors with other editorial projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Enrolled in Undergrad or Graduate program and returning for the Fall 2023 semester
- Working toward Bachelor's or Master's degree in in journalism or communications or a medical or science field
- Experience with writing and editing news stories (college newspaper or news site okay)
- You don't need to be an expert in healthcare or medicine to apply, but you do need to be curious and eager to learn
- You should be a self-starter who understands the needs of our growing audiences and is able to work independently under deadline pressure
- Strong attention to detail, including grammar and style
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working with Google sheets and documents
Preferred skills:
- Ability to write clear, accurate, and balanced news articles quickly
- Comfortable interviewing subjects for an article
- Good internet research skills
- Familiarity with social media
- Fluency in Spanish, French, Italian, or German
