Insurance Operations Manager

Wedbush Securities provides innovative financial solutions through our Private Client Services, Capital Markets, and Clearing & Execution divisions. Our Los Angeles office is seeking an Insurance Operations Manager to join the Insurance Products & Group Operations team.

The Insurance Operations team is responsible for managing all insurance related products support on behalf of Wedbush Securities. This includes variable annuities, life insurance, long-term care and disability income insurance. The Team provides support for insurance products via by ensuring process controls are complete and executed accurately and timely.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Partner with the Product head, national sales, Financial Advisors and branch managers to ensure the annuity and insurance business is fully supported including product reporting and commissions reconciliation
• Collaborate with internal business areas and outside Brokerage General Agencies for traditional insurance products, Life, Long-term care and fixed annuities processing
• Coordinate & manage all Insurance licensing & continuing education requirements for the firm
• Manage and support department staff to optimize productivity
• Reinforce structure and document workflows to enhance Department processes and communicate service standards
• Build relationships with external and internal wholesalers for Variable annuities products
• Contact Insurance Carriers and maintain relationships to facilitate business
• Utilize and support a new electronic order system
• Gather and summarize relevant data for senior management reports
• Assist in Identifying trends and patterns in branch or Advisor activity which may warrant further review
• Cross Train with Managed Assets Trading and Operations team to ensure full support is available across both business lines
• Perform other tasks and duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• 
  Bachelors degree from an accredited university (or equivalent work experience) preferred
• Must obtain insurance licenses within 6 months of hire
• 5-7 years of related experience in managerial role preferred
• Strong operations background required
• Knowledge of various insurance & annuities processing platforms Firelight and Luma highly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of various Insurance products including variable annuities, fixed equity indexed annuities, supervisory policies, and industry rules and regulations
• Demonstrated expertise in applying product knowledge to client situations when reviewing Insurance & annuity applications for completeness & accuracy
• Strong problem solving and independent decision-making skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to drive results and influence stakeholders to align behind a common vision
