Our Equity Sales and Trading team provides individualized service to our institutional, corporate and issuing clients utilizing Wedbush’s award winning proprietary research and management access events. Our Sales & Trading desk is built to deliver superior information flow, ideas and best execution services to small, mid and large cap clients.
The Junior Trader position is responsible for executing trades for clients to maximize profits and minimize loss, as well as providing Trade Support to the team. The position fosters and maintains client relationships.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Execute trades of investment products in a timely and efficient manner
- Develop and build relationship with new and existing clients
- Provide direct support to Head of Trading
- Create new market-making strategies
- Monitor market performance by reviewing trade media and news
- Build and maintain financial models
- Research and resolve issues in trading area
- Assist with transactional aspects of trade deals
- Perform other duties as required and assigned
Required Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University, preferably in Business Administration or related- 1-2 years of securities industry experience required
- Must have active 7 and 63 Licenses
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of financial trading software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong negotiation and sales skills
- Organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Must be resilient, proactive, and know how to take initiative
