We are accepting applications for a Seasonal Wedding Captain & Assistant
This role is the gateway position that is designed to train you to have the potential to become a full-time Wedding Sales Consultant & Coordinator.
Our seasonal position is the perfect manner in which to learn the Wedgwood Way!
This opportunity is a fantastic way to learn everything about producing and leading our events while learning the catering sales process.

First and foremost, we are looking for candidates with a positive attitude and a brilliant smile!
Qualified candidates will :
- have a passion for weddings, events and the hospitality industry
- possess a college degree or have substantial hospitality experience
- have strong computer skills with solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- be able to analyze and solve problems while multi-tasking
- have tremendous interpersonal skills (verbal / written / listening / presentation)
- possess strong organization and time management skills
- have the willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get the job done
- be willing to work a variety of shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays. Evening hours are roughly until midnight and are the most common shift timeframe.
- be able to exhibit grace under pressure
- be able to relate to a diverse set of team members and clients
- be able to lift chairs, move tables and participate in the set-up / tear-down of banquets.
The position is a combination of the Reception Captain, Coordinator's Assistant and Office Administrator. The Reception Captain is the largest part of this role.
The Captain is the main point of contact for our couples during their wedding. They are responsible for running the timeline with staff and vendors, delegating tasks to the banquet team, bussing / clearing tables, moving tables and chairs for tear-down and thinking quick on their feet should any problems arise.

The important extras :
- As is typical in the hospitality industry, this position requires regular availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as shifts of more than 8 hours and workweeks of more than 40 hours.
