Job Description:
The Electrical Engineer I is responsible for the electrical motors design taking in consideration customer specifications, manufacturing capabilities, agency regulatory requirements; making use of modern engineering systems and software’s, materials and technologies. Help ensure production lines run smoothly by diagnosing electrical issues that may appear during production process. This job will require communication with a broad range of people/groups including: engineers, manufacturing operators, manufacturing managers, and WEG management, so the ability to build relations is very welcome.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Read, modify, interpret and create electrical designs by applying company specific simulation software;
- Determine product specification, according to development needs, performing appropriate calculations in accordance with internal or external technical standards;
- Collaborate with engineers, customers, manufacturing and other personnel to implement new design configurations, resolve system faults, and provide technical information in many forms, including Engineering Changes, Temporary Instructions or any other;
- Execute product benchmark, identifying key features and possible improvement opportunities;
- Identify opportunities and solutions for operational improvements and results growth, including presentation materials to justify the project to decision makers;
- Provide customer support for existing products
- Evaluate, propose and conduct update analysis of existing product lines, aiming at improved manufacturability, cost reduction and market differentiation;
- Partner with Industrial Engineering in analysis and application of new technologies, materials, manufacturing processes.
- Execute and contribute to new product line developments, applying engineering tools and DFMEA/PFMEA, coordination of new components requirements, identifying restrictions and possible solutions, all the way through the final release of the line.
- This role includes production support for manufacturing on daily activities and eventual customers visits to evaluate product performance/application and/or travel to other WEG facilities.
Experience and Skills:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- Hands-on and with the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while recognizing and adapting to changing conditions
- Organizational skills and detail oriented for effectively handling and managing multiple tasks
- MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Presentation skills - verbal and written communication
Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Eventual traveling to customers/suppliers and manufacturing plant are also expected.
