- Assist operator in starting machines, change molds on machines as required, test several pieces, gauge and weigh to be assured that weights are within gauge and weight tolerances.
- Record part number on work station report and scrap all weights run during setup period, where applicable, make mechanical adjustments to automatic box opening device to assure proper box fit and proper weight fall from chute through dumper doors to unit box.
- Repair or replace any mechanical work within area of responsibility, perform minor electrical work such as heaters, micro switches and loose wire connections, make electrical checks with Simpson multimeter.
- Change motor and zeromax if needed, rework feeder mechanism as required, replace bushings and rollers as required, pull out and clean pumps, rebuild pumps if needed. In addition to production requirements: check weight and gap of weights during setup, dispose of all set up weights before allowing production.
- High school graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The associate has shown superior operator qualities and/or his/her work history indicates a background of mechanical aptitude having worked on and around similar machinery.
- A new machine repairer should be capable of responsibility for twelve or more machines without trainer help after a period of three months.
- Ability to work with various tools used in repairing machines.
- Mechanical aptitude and high level of hand/eye coordination.
- Capable of standing and bending for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry eighty (80) pounds. Moderate decision-making and problem-solving skills.
