Business Need/Purpose of Role:
The Plant Controller is a key member of Newton Mississippi Plant’s management team and will partner directly with the Site Manager to support the achievement of the plant’s performance objectives. This role manages plant specific periodic financial reporting, quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting, monitoring operating and capital expenditures, conducting cost performance analytics, promoting process control and lean environment, and driving initiatives towards cost optimization. This role will also support Divisional Finance to ensure consistency in the application of accounting policies and practices across the foundry network.
Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all manufacturing Finance related activities; Daily and Weekly key financial metrics review, Month end close, Standard cost setting, Inventory management, Periodic financial planning update and reporting to ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial results.
- Work closely with Site manager and operation leadership to set specific KPIs to optimize cost status and mitigate asset management risks.
- Aim to become the most knowledgeable person of the site’s operation process. Being able to connect business decisions, daily transactions with financial impact and provide coaching to others. Excellent communication skills are essential to the role and should be able to ensure process is followed and root cause of variances are identified and resolved timely.
- Work with Divisional finance, local Supply chain and Demand planning team to monitor, track and improve physical count (including cycle count) process and inventory accuracy; engaged in deliver successful quarterly and year end audits.
- Document controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing accounting and ensure IFRS compliance.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field required
- 3 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is a request; 5 years’ public accounting experience working with manufacturing clients would be considered as equivalent
- Strategic thinking and Problem-solving skills are critical to the success of the role
- Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently and effectively in a team, eager to learn, handle pressure positively and have continuous improvement attitude
- CPA or CMA is a plus
- Requires proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including strong Excel skills
- Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI and OneStream is a plus
- Travel requirements: 0-10% domestically
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
