Description
Provides professional nursing care and coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients as well as factoring patient flow through the system while providing triage safely, rapidly, and accurately, for every patient that enters the emergency care system.
Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and clearly communicates changes in patient’s status, symptomatology, and results of diagnostic studies to Emergency Department physicians.
Demonstrates genuine commitment to the job through showing initiative, being a self-starter and possesses the ability to work independently while demonstrating a positive attitude.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with three (3) years registered nurse experience within the last 48 months, and two (2) years of critical care or emergency nursing experience preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse license within the state of Idaho.
- Current BLS Certification.
- ACLS certified upon hire recommended. Obtained within six (6) months of hire required.
- PALS certified upon hire recommended. Obtained within eight (8) months of hire required.
- NRP recommended within twelve (12) months of hire.
- ENPC encouraged.
- TNCC recommended within eighteen (18) months of hire.
- CEN or CERN strongly encouraged after 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
- Works a minimum of every other weekend, rotates holidays and shares equally in on-call coverage with
- other unit nurses as needed.
- Ability to use sound judgment and cope with potentially stressful situations.
- Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and

- compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
- Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide – figure rates, ratio, and percent).
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
