POSITION SUMMARY:
We're looking for a Plant HR Manager to lead business and culture transformation at our largest manufacturing and fruit processing facility (350 total employees) in North East, PA (Greater Erie Area). The ideal candidate will be an influential business partner who is able to build trusting and authentic relationships with union and non-union work groups, including all levels of leadership. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Organizational Development:
- Partners with plant leadership to align people resources and capabilities of the organization to meet the challenges of the business. This includes organizational planning and design, change leadership, and coaching and development strategies.
- Drives organizational excellence by applying Welch's performance management processes, including goal setting, development, feedback, and compensation.
Recruitment and Staffing:
- Leads and implements recruiting strategies for all plant positions, exempt and non-exempt.
- Executes strategies to attract and retain high quality, diverse talent in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Manages hourly staffing models to ensure target headcount and training plans are aligned to meet the needs of the business.
- Works with outside agencies and corporate resources to build seasonal/harvest staffing plans
Employee and Labor Relations:
- Pro-actively manages plant labor relations, including labor/management meetings, contract interpretation, labor laws/regulations, past practice, grievance/arbitration, and mediation.
- Works with internal Employee/Labor Relations experts to develop bargaining priorities and strategies for contract negotiations.
- Acts as an advocate for the business and employees, proactively working to build an authentic culture where employees feel like they can use their voice and belong.
- Partners with the business to improve employee engagement by identifying areas of opportunity and executing action plans to address these areas.
Safety:
- Foster a safe working environment by actively participating in safety committees, assisting in the development and tracking of safety reward systems.
- Proactively identify and support the delivery of safety training.
- Participate in all plant safety activities as needed, including safety observation programs and accident investigations. Work with safety manager to manage workers' compensation claims.

- Familiarity with government agencies including Department of Labor and EEOC.
- Continuously questions the status quo and seeks ways to improve and develop.

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with proven record of accomplishment of effectively prioritizing and executing work responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team but also has the ability to work independently.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
- Minimum 7 years of related human resources experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing/processing facility required
- Experience working in a union environment strongly preferred
