Well Care Home Care is seeking a passionate and skilled LPNs to join our Private Duty Nursing team in the Jacksonville area. Full and Part time positions available!
JOB SUMMARY
The LPN-PDN works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager. The primary functions of this position is to be responsible for client care within the scope of practice of an LPN as regulated by North Carolina Nurse Practice Act. Performs other appropriate duties as assigned.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Maintains confidentiality in all professional areas.
Evaluates and treats clients with appropriate level of skill according to client’s needs.
Appropriately communicates information relative to client care in accordance with agency policies.
Demonstrates appropriate supervisory/leadership skills.
Responsible for meeting the annual goals of the agency.
Assists with program development by utilizing non-client treatment time effectively and productively.
Ensures the safety of clients and staff.
Effectively manages personal work schedules so that the agency operations are uninterrupted.
Maintains an appropriate standard of appearance which conforms to agency dress code.
Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision and values of the agency on a daily basis.
Maintains appropriate licensure, educational and other requirements as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Licensure / Certification: Current LPN licensure for the State of North Carolina.
Experience: One year of recent experience in an acute care facility preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively and work as a team member with other disciplines.
Essential Technical Skills: Current knowledge of fundamental medical and home care nursing principles and practice. Knowledge of the principles of adult learning. Knowledge of standards of medical record keeping. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, and to be literate in the English language.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and communicate in a professional and tactful manner with coworkers, clients, and family member and the general public Teamwork and communication skills essential.
Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time when working on a client. Good physical health. Should demonstrate patience, tact, and good personal hygiene. Must be capable of standing, stooping, bending, and heavy lifting
Essential Mental Requirements: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow plan of care. Ability to complete a diversity of tasks.
Essential sensory requirements: Ability to use sight to complete patient care activities and evaluate patient condition. Ability to use hearing to communicate with staff and patients and to hear alarms, etc. Sense of smell.
Exposure to Hazards: Noise, potential exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens, body fluids, sharps and infectious diseases. May be exposed to dangerous animals and traffic hazards while home visiting. May encounter patients and other situations which present a potential threat to personal safety. May encounter temperature changes and weather extremes.
