Job Posting for Clinical Psychologist at Wellbridge Addiction Treatment and Research
POSITION SUMMARY
Provides psychological assessment, diagnosis, therapy, case management, referral, and follow-up to patients and families. Offers consultation and case coordination with collateral parties as needed. Works closely with the Center for Addiction Science to ensure integration between research and clinical teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
Provide evaluations, diagnostic assessment and evidenced based therapy.
Initiate contact with patients, prepare treatment plans, write case summaries, and progress reports.
Monitor data through a dashboard and support the team effort to achieve goals and standards of clinical excellence.
Facilitate patient and treatment team communications; provide documentation and feedback on patient participation in the program and during case conferences.
Assist the research team and offer assessments on an as-needed basis for patients who need extra support, e.g. a more thorough cognitive assessment, personality, or emotional assessments, assess for disorders not captured at baseline.
Assist substance use therapists with caseload support as assigned.
Work closely with the teams to implement a “learning laboratory” culture where clinical and research staff work collaboratively to enhance clinical quality and research productivity.
Document interventions in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; adhere to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
Provide crisis intervention when indicated.
Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must have a Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited college or university.
Candidates must be currently licensed to practice Psychology in the State of New York.
Excellent communication and people skills, required.
Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy experience strongly preferred.
Experience with substance use treatment strongly preferred.
