Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Optometric Technician to join our team. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting the optometrist in providing excellent eye care services to our patients. Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and visual field testing
- Prepare patients for examination by the optometrist, including taking medical history and documenting chief complaints
- Assist with contact lens fittings and teach patients how to insert, remove, and care for their lenses
- Perform diagnostic tests, such as tonometry (measuring intraocular pressure) and retinal imaging
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting payments
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and answering any questions they may have
Skills:
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding
- Familiarity with medical records management
- Experience working in an optical or ophthalmology setting is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of retail math for processing payments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
