What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director Of Nursing position at Wellness Equity Alliance?
Description
Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing the following:
Elevate your career to new heights with an opportunity that transcends traditional healthcare boundaries!
Wellness Equity Alliance is actively seeking compassionate and driven individuals for several pivotal roles in our groundbreaking clinical programs that address some of the most fundamental access barriers to care for the most historically marginalized. In Southern California, much of our efforts are currently focused on HIV Street Medicine, which is an innovative and compassionate approach to healthcare, designed to meet individuals experiencing homelessness right where they are: on the streets, in shelters, or within underserved communities. Working for WEA is more than a job; it's a calling to serve those who are most in need, directly in their environment.
Purpose of the position
WEA has launched a series of unique street medicine/care management programs featuring mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and infectious disease management (in addition to primary care) all across southern California. The most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness have likely been failed by institutions many times in their lives, and their mistrust of authorities, institutions, and individual care providers may represent an attempt at self- protection that, over time, becomes a barrier to accessing care and resources that could improve their lives.
In addition, we are standing up school based health centers for some of the most historically marginalized adolescent/youth populations in New Mexico as well as standing up clinical programs for tribal communities in key states in the US. As public health extenders, we do our best to help build capacity for public health agencies and more recently managed care plans as we work more in population health management.
As a Director of Nursing with strong experience working with special populations, you will work with the national leadership team to both help stand up new programs as well as maintain existing ones with a focus on nursing operations. There will be some direct nursing involved and this will include a scope which includes assisting individuals in adopting healthy behaviors, with the ultimate goal of improving health disparities, evaluating and examining patients, diagnosing conditions, and providing treatments for symptoms and conditions.
The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest level of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and management, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care. The Director of Nursing is responsible for the mental and physical well-being of the community by advocating for health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, and education.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team. If you are a highly motivated and experienced nursing professional with a passion for providing exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
