About this role

The Desktop Infrastructure team manages the PC lifecycle with respect to system administration, security compliance, coordination of hardware repair, imaging, disposal, and refresh of over 10,000 PC’s. This includes SCCM, MDM, Absolute, anti-virus, and imaging tools. Responsibilities for the Systems Administrator II also include routine deployments and travel for new facility startups, corporate office, site offboarding and refresh.

What you bring to the table

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area from an accredited college preferred or commensurate experience

Experience:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a technical role. Backend desktop infrastructure or system administration required. Strong communication and project management skills required. Windows and/or Apple hardware and OS fundamentals and administration required

  • None Required

Compliance:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance

What you will do

  • Assist in asset procurement, imaging, and testing, inventory management as well as compliance with disposal practices.
  • Maintain company end user IT assets and ensure all equipment is always properly tagged, inventoried, and accounted for.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members, IT team, and leadership.
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base of common procedures and problem resolutions to enable the technical services team to be as timely, efficient, and effective as possible.
  • Manage a ticketing system to triage incidents in a timely manner, with customer follow up and concise updates.
  • Maintain project status and adhere to procedures related to deployment activities.
  • Ensure configuration management and compliance related to computers through system administration in accordance with company procedures and policies.
  • Plan and participate in deployment activities for end user equipment on new contracts, exits and equipment refresh projects.
  • Ensure receiving, inventory and disposal operations are being followed in accordance with process and procedure.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement new tools or software to better improve lifecycle management.
  • Anticipate, test, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on desktop images and creation of new images.
  • Work with vendors to ensure adherence, compliance, and successful facilitation of procurement and RMA.
  • Maintain standards and process related to Active Directory objects and Group Policy management.
  • Manage and support end-user tablets and device compliance with MDM tools such as JAMF and AirWatch.
  • Configure and support infrastructure related to VDI with Citrix, IoT and thin clients.
  • Ensure images are properly created, patched, configured, and include all required drivers and applications.
  • Manage software updates and installation through configuration management tools within change management processes both routine and requested.
  • Ensure OS lifecycle policies are implemented to achieve compliance and managed to ensure successful deployment.
  • Maintain software management policies regarding whitelisted and restricted software.
