Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Management Director for the Banking, Lending & Trust organization.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and develop a team of multiple levels of directors and managers with focus on delivering service of moderate to high complexity for cross functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and risk control development by overseeing strategy and execution of all activities
- Lead Business Controls team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues by ensuring all process weaknesses or gaps are identified and remediation plans are supported and acted upon
- Interpret and develop range of policies and procedures for business functions with moderate to high complexity and risk
- Collaborate with and influence corporate heads, business heads, legal, audit, regulators, industry partners, elected officials, and trade groups including more experienced leadership
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and aligned with strategic objectives in Business Controls functional area
- Develop and guide a culture of Business Controls talent development to meet business objectives and strategies
- 8 years of Risk Management or Business Controls experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4 years of Management experience
- 4 years of Banking (deposit and lending) experience ideally within the business
- Ability to provide consultation, expertise and strategic direction in the control design to effectively mitigate risks
- Ability to drive root cause and theme/trend identification leading to proactive mitigation of issues
- Primary risk management contact for the function with proven knowledge of controls, services, processes, vendors and systems
- Experience managing changes to services/products/processes
- Continuously engage in discussions with BL&T partners on strategy, industry trends, organizational changes, and new processes, systems, vendors, projects, and services, to determine impact and identify and remediate risk issues across all risk types
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques
- Ability to interact and lead discussions comfortably with senior levels of management
- Ability to influence audiences or stakeholders to achieve results
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across a large number of stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- The Control Director should be a highly motivated team player that has expertise in risk management and Banking and is a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations with a diverse group of stakeholders, and someone who is able to withstand challenges and adapt accordingly
- The Control Director must have the demonstrated ability to lead and foster a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication, execution and strong partnerships with key stakeholder groups within the BL&T Control team, the Enterprise Functions/LOB Control teams, IRM, Audit and across WIM to achieve success.
