About this role:
Wells Fargo is looking for a Retail Core Operations Technology Director.
The Retail Core Operations Technology Director will serve as the technology leader for Retail Core Operations (RCO). This leader will drive the technology strategy and roadmap for Retail Core Operations Technology and will report into to the Consumer Operations Technology Executive.
The Technology Director will be responsible for leading and transforming the Retail Core Operations (RCO) Technology organization and all functions including but not limited to writs and levies, check processing, legal order processing, estate care, exception processing and settlements covering the following products:

Customer Transaction & Execution (CTE) - ATM exceptions, ATM Debit Card Support, Account Closure and Partial Withdrawals by Mail, Balance Confirmation Services, Deposit corrections, Data perfection/ balancing for deposits, Treasury management operations, Exception payments, Return item processing / research, Overall payment monitoring, Transaction Recovery

Asset Deployment & Account Settlement (ADAS) - Reconcile accounts, Manage the Company’s check clearing activities, Unclaimed Property, Issue Management and Control

Check Modernization - Modernizing/consolidating/re-platforming the check processing applications to streamline technology to deliver continuous improvement

Deposit Legal Services (DLS) - Deposit Regulatory Reporting, Legal Support, Product Open & Account Maintenance
This leader will drive transforming this capability by creating a self-service strategy that shields the customer from operational interactions, automate operational processes in increments to accomplish accuracy and effectiveness and modernize and digitize capabilities with Wells Fargo in mind leveraging the domain driven design.
This leader will bring the technology team and product partners together to transform to a Product Centric model while driving the efficiency, productivity, and delivery of critical business capabilities with a focus on software engineering guidelines, leadership, architecture standards, practices, and tools.
When successful, this leader will enhance experiences for the customer by shielding them from operational processes because they will be digitized and drive significant efficiencies through end-to-end automation.
In this role you will:

Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads.

Provide thought leadership both from a strategic and technical perspective for various initiatives within the group.

Demonstrate expertise in people management with capability to identify, recruit, develop, motivate, and retain talent.

Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and relationship skills. This includes experience presenting to, collaborating with, and building trusted relationships with executive management, senior management, technical mangers, and peers to influence direction.

Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers

Lead with effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style.

Establish a vision, develop the strategy to support the vision, gain consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and drive action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
-
8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
-
4 years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
-
15 years of total experience, of which at least 7 in managing and building teams in a financial domain.
-
10 years of experience in Retail Core Operations Technology roles with deep focus on: check processing, legal order processing, estate care and exception processing and settlements domain experience and demonstrable ability for delivering transformation programs.

8 years of experience with managing software development projects through complete release cycles
-
8 years of experience with finance, resource, business, and strategic planning in technology
-
Executive level leadership experience managing complex, diverse technology organizations of 150 resources including senior managers, managers, individual contributors, and vendor resources across multiple global locations. Experience managing and leading fast paced engineering teams, working in a matrix organization globally.

Experience working in Agile (SAFE Agile) model with cross-team interaction with Product owners, scrum master, scrum teams etc.

Strong presentation and communication skills to be able to engage with senior business and technology stakeholders.

Proven record of delivery across organizational lines – ability to influence outcomes at senior levels.

Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders.
-
Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications, who can also assist in building and presenting complex topics to Executive management in multiple mediums.

Experience delivering results in a highly regulated, deadline driven environment.

Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives.

Ability to manage to concurrent competing and changing deadlines, quickly assess issue and concerns while bringing those issues to quick resolution.

Pay Range
