The TI Vendor Management team is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive vendor management program across a complex and strategic portfolio of global infrastructure vendors. As part of the Business Services organization the team delivers critical functional support and relationship management services across the TI organization, including senior leadership and executive teams, and the Enterprise in order to meet our Third Party Service Provider policy requirements, deliver on the value of our sourcing engagements, and provide an overarching focus on measuring and managing vendor performance capabilities.
Specifically, the Vendor Manager role manages an assigned portfolio of vendors (Third Party Service Providers) acting as the primary interface back to TI and Enterprise LOB’s. The Vendor Manager partners with TI leadership and functional teams to assist in aligning vendor strategies, identifying, tracking and driving vendor relationship management needs and concerns, and is a support resource into the external vendor community by advocating business interests on behalf of the Enterprise as well as being the conduit to provide vendor information back to TI services and additional partner groups. This is a highly visible position with a broad sphere of influence across the enterprise. On average, the Vendor Manager will manage a diverse portfolio of 20-40 relationships that includes High, Moderate, and Low risk vendors. This portfolio can reflect a multi-million dollar annual spend across the Enterprise.
Portfolio Management
- Manage a portfolio of strategic and critical vendor relationships.
- Ability to take on new vendor assignments across multiple infrastructure domains.
- Align with Supply Chain and internal stakeholders to enable development of vendor strategies.
- Develop comprehensive analysis reporting and oversight strategy for assigned vendor portfolio.
- Ability to work with various levels of management including Senior and Executive Management.
- Leverage their strong understanding of TI technology, goals and skills across all products and services.
- Partner is typically a large business unit and/or a large component internal to the Technology organization. Acts as the single point of contact for the partner and the appropriate technical groups from solution planning to fulfillment.
Relationship Management
- Drive relationship management responsibilities across assigned vendor base.
- Responsible for end-to-end vendor lifecycle management; new vendor on-boarding through termination.
- Develop centralized relationship management strategies for escalation and issues tracking.
- Manage internal and external expectations for the successful delivery of services.
- Influences technology selection by gathering business requirements, working with technology teams to determine if standard solution will work or if custom solution is necessary, and recommending the best option to the partner, including providing guidance on leveraging new technology.
- Responsible for facilitating the relationship between the technology organization and partner by managing and supporting the delivery of technology products and services.
Contract Management
- Manage contract lifecycle process including contract implementation, oversight, and disposition.
- Develop appropriate governance framework across financial, operational, and risk areas.
- Participate in contract reviews, analysis, and reporting efforts as required.
- Understand demand management drivers across all products and services.
Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with the enterprise Third Party Service Provider policy program.
- Develop holistic vendor risk profile analysis across assigned vendor base.
- Participate in external / internal audit activities on behalf of TI and the Enterprise.
Performance Management
- Lead, manage, and facilitate performance management reviews for all assigned vendors.
- Develop appropriate governance framework across acquisition, delivery, and operations.
- Align internal KPI metrics and expectations against vendor performance metrics (SLA’s / SLO’s).
- Develop comprehensive analysis and reporting assessing vendor performance capabilities.
- Ensures service quality and cost-effectiveness of solutions. Monitors higher profile projects to ensure requests are met on time and within sizing, keeping all parties informed of impacts and changes. Maintains regular contact with management within Technology and the supported business area, driving high quality regular communications and appropriate documentation and artifacts.
