Wells Fargo Outsourced Trading (WFOT) is a trading platform that exists within WFS. The offering includes outsourced trading, commission management, hybrid high and low touch trading, trading technology including EMS/OMS/PMS solutions, all delivered in a flexible, open-architecture environment.
We are seeking a Director level professional to work in an entrepreneurial environment and help drive the development of new business relationships. This will include helping to create a sales pipeline for new client opportunities across the country and the management of the sales lifecycle for those opportunities. The individual will need to work closely with the Equity Finance sales team where needed in the relevant regions.
Job Description:
- Act in the capacity of Outsourced Trader in all aspects of global equities trading to include equities, program trading, electronic trading, swaps, and derivatives
- Identify and engage with prospective clients for the Outsourced Trading business and help manage the sales lifecycle for these relationships
- Partner with broader Wells Fargo Equity Finance sales team where needed and cover all geographic regions in the US
- Help manage the sales pipeline for the PTS business including tracking, prioritization, forecasting, and reporting
- Engage with each opportunity in a consultative way to understand the client’s business model and identify their needs and opportunities for WFOT to partner with them
- Explain and position WFOT capabilities and offering in both a general overview and in the context of a specific client’s needs
- Liaise with WF Equity Finance and other WFS partners in managing relationships and opportunities that span multiple product areas
The position will be located in New York, reporting directly to the Head of Wells Fargo Outsourced Trading.
This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CRF 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

- At least 10 years of experience in the trading function for alternative and/or asset managers
- Experience with a trading and investment firm in a business development capacity
- An established network of relationships across the industry to leverage in building the PTS book of business
- An understanding of buy side trading operation including outsourced trading, electronic trading, and high-touch trading across domestic and international equities, equity options, and fixed income securities
- A deep understanding of trading technology infrastructure and prime brokerage services
- Ability to travel throughout the country to build relationships with clients and prospects, including, but not limited to, focus areas like the Southeast, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, and San Francisco
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and ability to work independently
- Professional business acumen
