Job Description:
Under the general supervision, repairs, calibrates, tests and maintains a variety of medical, laboratory, OR equipment and systems at a specialist skills level. This position supports equipment such as, but not limited to, physiological monitoring systems, lasers, robots, lab service lines, OR systems, etc.. Has an understanding of network fundamentals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Accountabilities:
Performs preventative maintenance inspections and electrical safety testing and corrects problems encountered.
Analyzes supported equipment for cause(s) of failure. Isolates, tests and replaces defective parts.
Uses available test equipment to test functionality of supported equipment. Troubleshoots problems and repairs the equipment.
Makes necessary operational adjustments to supported equipment. Takes sensitivity, selectivity and accuracy measurements.
Responds to emergency calls for supported equipment. Troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs as needed.
Monitors and assists manufacturers as needed to ensure maximum repair efficiency with minimum down time at the lowest possible cost.
Orders necessary parts and maintains required inventory.
Interfaces directly with vendor service engineers and vendor sales representatives.
Works in conjunction with MEISS and/or other IT teams to evaluate medical equipment attached to the network.
Engages appropriate personnel from varying WellSpan departments, such as IS Security, Network Services, MEISS, Integrations and others, by discerning technology components involved in connectivity to the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Configures and Troubleshoots equipment for networking using wireless/hardware connectivity
Manages a variety of projects for Biomed
Is familiar with and can service most or all medical equipment devices (not Imaging)
Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
6 - 8 years
Minimum Education:
Associate's Degree
Required Certification:
CBET
Physical Demands:
Heavy physical effort (lift/carry 26 to 50 lbs)
Frequent prolonged standing/walking
Pushes/pulls or moves/lifts heavy equipment/supplies
