What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant, Fixed Assets position at Welltower?
SUMMARY
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of tax depreciation, gain/loss on the disposal of assets, as well as any other tax compliance duties that may arise. This position will also coordinate workpapers and documentation to support return filings. The Tax Accountant will work with third party service providers and operators to communicate various tax matters around fixed assets and gain/loss.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain the fixed asset listing in our system of record.
- Prepare depreciation reports for both domestic and international entities.
- Prepare projected Gain/Loss reports for REIT compliance.
- Prepare separate entity Gain/Loss reports for Tax Compliance both domestic and international.
- Review and reconcile accounts fixed assets.
- Review of fixed assets on incremental developments/transactions.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 1-3 years of tax accounting experience in a CPA firm or in a corporate tax department is desired.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
