Description

Overview of the Position:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of financial performance of the division against historical, budgeted, and forecasted results to facilitate decision-making toward maximizing performance to the budget and strategic plan. The position will be a business partner to all business leaders of the organization. Position will also likely play a role in acquisitions and integrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Key participant in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
  • Lead real-time financial performance monitoring, creating variance analysis reports that escalate any financial issues to management; recommend strategies for increasing financial performance
  • Organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and develop financial models to understand and drive financial performance
  • Maintain data integrity within financial reporting tool by monitoring account mapping and calculations
  • Complete market research and comparable company analysis
  • Prepare detailed daily and monthly financial reports for key business partners and support Management Team and Department heads with in-depth analysis to understand and drive performance
  • Collaborate with senior members of the accounting and finance teams

  • Advanced computer and data modelling skills: MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Workday Adaptive Planning a plus

Education / Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related; Two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
