Position Summary
Under general supervision, performing software quality activities to ensure release and readiness for internal customers and meeting quality expectations. Focus of this test positon will be on .net and SAP applications. We are looking for a tester that has manual testing skills. If the candidate has automated testing experience (ex. performance testing) that is fine, but not needed. Candidate at least needs to be interested in learning automation. Have to be able to multitask as the candidate will be handling multiple projects at one time. Must have SQL experience to run queries and nice to have worked in an Agile Scrum environment. Must be able to create test cases and test plans from the requirements.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Defines overall software verification design approach (test architecture /design) and structure for broad, comprehensive features
- Creates, revises, and executes test cases (automated, white box, and/or black box)
- Works directly with software developers to ensure requirement implementation/verification correctness and to review test case coverage
- Writes software defect reports; Identifies and record the exact sequence of activities that were performed to produce software malfunctions
- Investigates software defects and problem reports to provide additional information in the report to aid defect fixing
- Reviews specifications (system, software functional) for correctness against test cases
- Submits change requests against the software when requirements are incorrect
- Maintains test environment, including needed supplies and necessary maintenance
- Follows project and corporate plans, standards, and procedures to perform verification
- Performs unit testing and/or integration testing to ensure validity of the automated/white box test code
- Evaluates, investigates, and implements fixes to defects in automated/white box test code
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Receives assignments from IT Development Director
- Communicates with IT Development Director, IT Development Manager, IT Analyst/Programmers or IT Organization Analysts to coordinate quality testing of the software

Skills & Capabilities:
- Ability to operate instrumentation
- Possesses strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to use software engineering tools: configuration, requirements, and defect management
- Ability to work in conjunction with other software QA engineers and development engineers
- Ability to develop automated tests
Qualifications
Min Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3 year of experience or waiver based on experience. Degree should be in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Math, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science)
- 3 years of experience in software engineering practice and software testing methodologies.
- 3 years of experience proficiency with a personal computer and software packages
