Rate Publication Analyst

As a Rate Publication Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various partner departments to provide support. Reporting to the manager of Rate Administration, the ideal candidate has strong passion for best-in-class customer service, and team engagement. The Rate Publication Analyst will be responsible for file preparation using Microsoft suite products, heavy file manipulation with one-on-one training. As a Rate Publication Analyst, you will be working side by side with pricing, billing customer service, sales, and supervisory personnel. Close team interaction is a must, to maintain daily communication with partner departments. Based on knowledge of how freight is executing, service offerings and billing, you will be responsible to decide how to enter the rates into the rating engine, customized by customer. This function has direct impact to financial reporting. It will be the responsibility of the publication analyst to investigate the issues that caused no rate to populate, along with monitoring internal inboxes with timely turnaround time, usually within the same day.  Other examples include but are not limited to review of load set up, such as load creation, bill to code, equipment type, or geography selection, etc. Answer incoming calls from internal and external customers requesting assistance with rate administration related issues. Responsibilities: Work with Werner's business units and management to maintain & customize Werner's rating engine. Maintain clear concise communication with management to assist in the development/enhancement and maintenance of various systems to support rating. Manage and implement customer awards based on load execution with minimal errors to avoid direct impact to financial reporting. Manage rates in customer's system to meet business rules Manage internal systems by confirming proper, and accurate pricing based on geographic region and division. Properly document all communication with key players that involve rate modification for record keeping. Effectively communicate with management when problem solving and researching rating errors that have any significant revenue impact with proper documentation in Salesforce. Generate rate pages for Werner Enterprises to finalize publication. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel. Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel. Qualifications: Strong Excel skills; functions including but not limited to V-look ups, pivot tables, true/false statements, formulas and formatting. Strong typing skills - alphanumeric data entry Strong communication and decision-making skills, reasoning and problem solving with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, work independently and in a team environment to achieve goals. Knowledge of transportation industry and terminology. Usually gained through practical experience and on-the-job training. Knowledge of customer service policies and practices. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 1 to 2 years customer service experience preferred. 1 to 2 years of transportation experience preferred. 1 to 2 years Transportation System (AS/400) experience preferred.
