What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Technician - Maintenance position at Wesco?
This person will perform skilled preventive and predictive maintenance and advanced repair of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Repairs, alters, and maintains a variety of tools and equipment. Possesses advanced knowledge of mechanical and facilities repair and maintenance. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians.
- Monitors maintenance of equipment by employees or contractors, including conveyor, fork trucks, and material handling equipment.
- Monitors maintenance of building and site, including lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and roof.
- Ensures procedures are followed and recorded as related to document control of maintenance and repair.
- Monitors capital construction projects, equipment purchases, and installations to maximize investment.
- Monitors calibration of scales, wire handling equipment, and measurement equipment according to policy.
- Ensures procedures are followed and properly recorded as related to document control of calibrated equipment.
- Ensures repairs to facility and equipment are expeditiously performed to promote positive and safe work environment.
- Ensures complete and functional operation of security system to protect distribution center assets, including inventory, people, equipment, and systems.
- Recommends and implements programs with cost improvements towards lower operating costs, including productivity, utilities, safety, and supplies.
Experience:
- 2 years required, 5 years preferred of DC operations maintenance.
Education:
- High School degree or equivalent experience required.
- Technical school certification preferred.
Skills:
- Knowledge of conveyor systems and power equipment repair functionality.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Ability to coordinate schedules with outside vendors.
- Electrical wiring.
- Small electrical motor repair
