Full-Time: Monday - Friday with an on-call rotation. The Assistant Director of Nursing will work in accordance with established policies and procedures and specific instructions from the Director of Nursing. Manages RNs, LPNs and STNAs in the Health Center. The ADON is a highly interactional position between the supervisory nursing staff, the nursing assistants and other various departments that provide services to the Health Center residents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts new admission audits
- Monitors and ensures proper and total care given to each resident daily
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Care Planning for all residents
- Assists in the transportation of residents to desired destinations
- Provides residents with desired walks and exercise
- Ensures residents rooms are neat and orderly daily
- Follows up on all resident issues
- Supervises all RNs, LPNs, and STNAs in Health Center
- Trains and familiarizes new nursing assistants to the unit and to Wesley Glen
- Enforces Wesley Glen & State policies, procedures and regulations
- Ensures all nursing assistant documentation is complete before the end of each shift
- Evaluates performance of staff as requested in factual manner
- Completes change over of medication once per month
- Performs MOD (manager on duty) functions once a month
- Performs on call duties for a week once per month
- Provides and replenishes supplies that are needed daily
- Ensure work areas are kept neat and orderly at all times

Job Requirements:
- Have graduated from an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in Ohio.
- Must have previous management experience
- Have knowledge of long term care
- Wound experience is a plus
- Demonstrate leadership qualities, strong communication skills and self motivation
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisory nursing staff and nursing assistants
- Ability to not only work independently, but dependently with nursing staff, while demonstrating good judgement
- Must have planning, organizing and evaluating skills to coordinate the care of residents and duties of the nursing staff
