SUPPORT SPECIALIST

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The duties of the IT Technical Support Specialist include the following; these duties may be modified and other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business:
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of Wespac’s network.
  • Resolving all issues coworkers have with their IT systems and software.
  • Assisting with network administration tasks.
  • Installing new software and hardware components.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in performing IT analyst services.
  • Problem solves, troubleshoots, and restores technical service and equipment troubles by analyzing, identifying, and diagnosing faults and symptoms; helps identify and analyze problem causes, patterns, and trends.
  • Recommends corrective action where appropriate, trains and consults with customers, identifies customer concerns and resolves or escalates customer issues expediently and accurately with in documented timeframes.
  • Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.
  • Recommends system modifications to reduce user problems. Create and manage user account information Adds, Changes, and Deletes.
  • Build configure and maintain computer and Mobile systems.
  • Coordinate equipment repair with end users and schedule, periodic upgrades on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring data storage is safe and secure.
  • Regularly evaluating Wespac’s IT systems to ensure they meet the necessary demands.
  • Provide end user training when needed with all type of hardware and software.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
  • Broad base of specialized knowledge and competency in core hardware and operating system technologies including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking.
  • Knowledge and competency in Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and below, Office 365 Professional, Directory Services, Terminal Services.
  • Knowledge and competency in Mobile operating systems: Apple iOS, Android, and other mobile related software.
  • Knowledge and competency with VPN, Application Deployment with having the skills to successfully troubleshoot desktop and mobile environments.
  • Must have a basic understanding of computer components and WAN/LAN technology to troubleshoot and identify user issues.
  • Must have the personality and ability to work in an environment where they can exercise independent judgment and discretion and provide good customer service while dealing with various people and keep a professional demeanor.
  • Can efficiently and independently handle and support various system issues daily.
  • Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation to accommodate remote site installation and configurations.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication ability, both written and verbal.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A Certification (or complete certification within 6 months of hire).
IT certifications for example: CISM, CISA, MCASAE, CompTIA (A , Cloud , Security ).
Familiarity with a range of software and hardware.
Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (or complete certification within 6 months of hire) or equivalent work experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1 year experience in technical support role.
