RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work independently and responsibly to ensure accurate and expedient transcript production using computer-aided transcription
- Meet all transcript deadlines, billings, orders, mailing, or any other transcript-related areas
- Attend hearings, depositions, proceedings, meetings, and other types of events that need a written transcript
- Report speaker's identification, actions, and gestures
- Support litigation in areas of toxic torts, mass torts, class actions, government contract law, labor relations, workers compensation, general law, government contract law, civilian personnel, and other areas of administrative law
- Arrange interviews with notable individuals
- Check references and verify details such as public records and news files
- Index and file all court proceedings materials
- Performs relevant clerical support
- Provides their own computer, court reporting equipment and software
BACKGROUND
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Preference for experience with Washington state administrative law, including the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and Pollution Control Hearings Board
- COVID vaccination —meet requirements of Executive Order 14042
- U.S. Citizenship
EDUCATION
- Preference for Bachelor’s degree
- Preference for Registered Professional Reporter

Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of the time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of the time.
