What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Sales position at West Hotel Group?
Duties and Responsibilities
- Achieve account and revenue goals as established by Director, Field Sales.
- Identify prospective new accounts for the property (or properties) if selling for more than one property.
- Foster and build relationships with current top producing accounts.
- Make sales calls on prospective new accounts located within the assigned market.
- Prepare and present sales proposals to prospective customers in the assigned market.
- Negotiate rates with the input of others.
- Track and enter all sales activities into customer database.
- Communicate sales activities and results to Sales and Operations Management.
- Complete weekly and quarterly reports and other projects as assigned by the due dates given.
- Close deals and secures business.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years sales or marketing experience, to include two years in hotel industry sales experience.
- Previous experience in a convention center hotel, multi-unit sales, or similar capacity is preferred.
- Must be able to establish a client base in a defined geographic area and or market segment through proactive direct outside sales efforts for the purpose of securing business for the hotel.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient skills in MS Office Suite and Property Management Systems.
- Proficient in CRM (Customer Relationship Software)
