Employee will be assigned to the WVDEP's Public Information Office and, under general supervision, will serve as a digital content specialist for the agency (see Special Requirements below). Employee will be responsible for development and maintenance of digital multimedia content on the WVDEP's social media sites and website. Employee will use Adobe Creative Suite CS6 or current CC versions to develop web content and other media and use online content management systems, web analytics, and search engine optimization to enhance the agency's web and social media presence. Employee will work other divisions within WVDEP to identify opportunities to inform the public of the Agency’s programs and activities of interest. Employee will assist with multimedia content creation for WVDEP education and outreach programs and with production of the WVDEP YouTube Channel "Environment Matters". Employee will assist with planning WVDEP outreach events, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Applicants must have experience creating digital media. You will be asked to provide samples of your work. This includes at least one of the following: video, digital photography, graphics, blogs, podcasts, and/or desktop publishing. Experience with online content management systems, web analytics and SEO preferred. Applicant should have knowledge of current social media trends, and skill with digital imaging, digital asset management, and writing for various internal and external audiences. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, a plus. Journalism, broadcast, marketing, or public/media relations experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited four year college or university with a major in communications, fine arts, journalism, graphic design, marketing, public relations, English or related field.
Substitution: Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a field of public information dissemination may substitute for above training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a public information dissemination field.
