Pay: $55k - $65k/year Dependent on Experience
Job Summary:
The Executive Director will serve as the chief administrator, providing leadership and implementing policies and programs to carry out the work of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily administration of the organization by implementing policies, procedures, and programs.
- Drafts and implements performance standards; conducts performance reviews for senior leadership.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Board of Directors, maintaining open communication and disclosure of the conditions, operations, and needs of the organization.
- Drafts, presents, and recommends organizational policies and programs to the Board. Familiarity with federal, state and local grant and loan programs for economic development purposes.
- Oversees preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial updates.
- Facilitates periodic audits and compliance activities for the organization.
- Negotiates, signs and manages all contracts, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into on behalf of the organization.
- Supports and directs public relations activities to build and maintain relationships with other organizations and the public.
- Managing company-owned property. Negotiate leases, tenant management, interfacing with vendors, ensuring property is adequately maintained.
- Executes other duties as requested by the Board of Directors.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Location:
The primary work location shall at the JLDC offices in Whitehall, Montana where a minimum of two days per week shall be spent with the remainder of the time spent working from home (or traveling), providing adequate home office arrangements are available. Occasional travel to meetings across the county might be required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission and vision.
- Familiarity with federal, state and local grant and loan programs for economic development purposes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and the general public.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment, both from headquarters and from the home office
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and familiarity with QuickBooks.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field.
- At least three to five years of business administration education, personnel supervisory experience, and leadership experience is preferred, but equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer and driving.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
