Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a Lead Research Associate to participate in epidemiologic studies and other health research working with government scientists primarily at the National Cancer Institute. This individual will manage the day-to-day activities of ongoing research involving protocol development, liaising with study sites, and the collection and processing of health data including bio-specimens.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with investigators, study collaborators and project staff to develop and implement study protocols.
- Coordinate project communications including leading study meetings and producing reports on study progress.
- Arrange approvals and access to data sources and oversee data acquisition and management.
- Develop requirements for study and data management systems and associated QA/QC measures and reports.
- Monitor data collection and processing activities including liaison with study sites, laboratories and other collaborating organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
- A master's degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology and a minimum of 4 years of related work experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multi-site epidemiologic studies preferred.
- Experience with bio-specimen collection and management preferred.
- Administrative abilities, and the capability to handle multiple tasks while working in a team setting are essential.

- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients.
- Organizational skills, including time management ability.
- Detail oriented.
