What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Weld Inspector position at WesTech?

We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control Weld Inspector, CWI preferred, with working knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.6, and ASME Sec, IX.
Some of the work that you will do:
- Understand fundamentals of VT, MT, AET, UT, PT, ET, RT, LT
- Generate inspection reports in an expeditious and thorough manner, complying with all applicable deadlines and reporting using WesTech required Inspection forms.
- Proficient in a variety of computer software applications such as: Microsoft Word, Excel and other software utilized in reporting and maintaining quality control records.
- Competent in reading and interpreting structural and mechanical drawings and weld symbols.
- Competent in performing dimensional inspections using standard inspection and testing tools, e.g. tape measure, calipers, fillet weld gauge, amp probe, coating DFT gauge, etc.
- Possess a working knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.6, and ASME Sec, IX.
- Competent in reading and analyzing Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, Welder Certifications and Weld Maps.
- Able to perform in-process weld monitoring and testing.
- Willing and able to be flexible in work schedule demands; including out of town travel, working additional hours in a day or week including the occasional weekend as required.
- Perform supplier audits and maintain consistent expectations throughout the supply chain.
- Domestic and international travel
Here are the skills that you need:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in visual weld inspection
- Certified Weld Inspector and other inspection certifications, such as NACE
